Strategies for Never Losing Out Again
Strategies for Never Losing Out Again: Life has many twists and turns and sometimes unpleasant moments. When things do not go as planned, circumstances throw us off balance, and we begin to doubt ourselves; coping can be challenging. Ultimately, we hope everything goes well, and we come out victorious. But life constantly challenges us, and we cannot control everything. And we should not try. What matters is not what happens to you but how you deal with what happens to you.
Here are three simple ways to always be on top:
1. Focus on your strengths
We have many contradictions. I am sorry to tell you about this. Sometimes, we are happy, sad, hopeful, pessimistic, child, and mature, but we also have different strengths and weaknesses that affect what we do and how we do it. But we tend to focus more on our “weaknesses” - not our strengths.
Strength is something you do consistently well or at a near-perfect level of performance; it is something you can do. You are hard-wired to do well and get inherent satisfaction from doing it. It could be tackling and solving complex problems, empathizing with people, having a lively imagination, or being able to make the perfect pizza.
Focusing on what you do well rather than what you are not so good at makes all kinds of sense. When you look at what you are not good at, you feel bad about yourself and your ability, but when you focus on and play to your strengths, you are guaranteed to get results and can even eliminate any adverse effect your weaknesses might have.
There was a guy I worked with who hated public speaking and recognized that it was one of his weaknesses, working as an advertising executive and as he climbed the ladder. He found that he did more presenting, stuttering, freezing, forgetting his points, and not performing at his best. But when we focused on his strengths, we found that he had terrific social skills, an ability to quickly establish great rapport with people, and a fantastic sense of humor. Using those strengths, he could connect easily with each person in his audience, enjoying himself more and delivering presentations with fun, humor, and warmth. He used his strengths to overwhelm his weaknesses and went from strength to strength himself.
2. Set everything up in advance
Of course, sometimes you get caught up in something. Doing it well will get the desired results (usually if you play to your strengths). But sometimes, you may make a mistake and not get the desired results. No matter your challenge or opportunity, you are much more likely to achieve great results if you set yourself up for success in advance.
So, what exactly do you want to happen? Is there a solution? Get a clear picture of what you want from what is happening to you and what it will look like to get the results you are looking for. Let’s break it down. What are you ready to do? What can I do to get the results I want? What will help you achieve what you want?
No matter your situation, you can achieve the desired results if you clearly state what you want and make the effort to organize everything to make it happen. Think of it this way. If you invest time or effort into presets, you are much more likely to get the results you want than if you don’t. It is your choice.
3. No losses in any case
What is life really like? Get a good job, get married, feel valued, and have fun? This varies from person to person, but it is simply about doing our best for ourselves and the people we care about. Sometimes it is a struggle. This is a joy, but what remains constant through it all is our ability to learn, develop, and grow. Humans have an unparalleled ability to learn and adapt. This is why we can do our best and find ways to have more, do more, and be more.
That’s why everything you do takes you to the next level. You only need to do one thing. That’s right, everything you do that does not work out is check another box and move on. Because you know another way not to do something and what not to do next time, you will never reach 100% unless you first go from 1% to 99%.
Everything you do can be learned, whether it turns out the way you want it to or not. This means that everything is part of a process, and everything you do and learn is an important step forward.
There is no defeat. There is only growth and learning. Well, here’s your extra success!
